Weird Friends
God made us to need each other, and it’s important to have friends. But, the kind of friendship the world usually offers is very unsatisfying since they are often conditional and superficial. The kind of friendships that the Bible wants us to have are weird, they are far different from what this world offers. Our passages today are about the friendship between two people named David and Jonathan, and they teach us a lot about having a wonderfully weird, but biblical, friendship.
