The children are dismissed following the praise in song to go to the Student Life Center for their own time of worship. Using Songs and objest lesson the children learn in their own words about Jesus' life.
We strive to provide the highest quality of care. We desire to help lay a firm foundation of faith for the children, and we want to do it in such a way that they will love coming to church. Sunday School begins at 9:30 AM
Preschool Nursery (newborns through 1 year)
Nursery care is given to infants and toddlers during Bible study and morning worship services.
Pre-School (2 years through Kindergarten)
The Pre-School Department is a well-planned ministry designed to reflect and provide a warm and friendly atmosphere so the preschoolers can feel at ease while learning about God.
Children (grades 1st through 6th)
The Children's Department is one of our most energetic departments. We at First Baptist Church are kept busy seeking new and effective ways to keep up.
MUSIC
Children's Choir (Kindergarten through 6th grade)
The children gather together on Sundays during the school year at 6:00 PM in the choir room to learn about praising God in music using musical instruments; bells, rthym stick, and drums and singing of songs.
SUMMER
Children's Camp
During the summer months children who have completed the 4th through 12th grade can attend a 5 day, 4 night camp at Bates Creek Bible Camp. The Jefferson Baptist Association sponsors the camp grounds located in Potosi, Missouri.
Vacation Bible School
What an exciting time VBS is each year. Come, watch, and see how the Worship Center takes on a decorated theme for VBS. Classrooms are turned into places of children's imagination and transformed into venues for learning. For all children ages 5 years through the 6th grade. 2010 VBS will be held July 26 - 30 from 9:00 AM to Noon.
Adult Ministry
Bible Study - Sunday School
We offer a Bible Study class for everyone of all ages. Individual classes meet on Sundays at 9:30 AM. This a small group time to build lasting friendships.
Library
The library is purchasing the latest fiction and non-fiction books and it is their desire to keep the library a welcome place for everyone: children, youth and adults. There are books ranging from home decorating, food and nutrition, romance, Christian living, parenting, singles, autobiographies, fantasy and fiction, education and bible helps. VegieTales DVDs are available.
